Regeneration witnesses the way a decentralized, independent socially engaged art project has navigated the times of a global crisis.
The research started as an informal pilot project in 2010 in a small factory in the outskirts of Beijing, from the encounter between the Italian artist / researcher Alessandro Rolandi and the today CEO of Bernard Controls industries, Guillaume Bernard. In 2011 the first Social Sensibility R&D Department was officially created in Beijing and six years later the second one was created in Paris/Gonesse. Since then three artists, the founder Rolandi, Tianji Zhao and Blandine de La Taille have worked together across distances and cultures to create projects with factory workers, managers and artists in residence following a methodology developed on the field, based on spontaneous, non necessary and non mandatory encounters on the workplace.

La recherche débute par un projet pilote expérimental en 2010 dans une petite usine en périphérie de Pékin, à l’issue de la rencontre entre un artiste chercheur, Alessandro Rolandi, et le CEO des industries Bernard Controls, Guillaume Bernard. En 2011, le premier Social Sensibility R&D Department est officiellement créé à Pékin puis, six ans plus tard, un département parallèle
se met en place à Paris-Gonesse. Depuis, trois artistes, le fondateur Rolandi, Tianji Zhao et Blandine de La Taille travaillent en étroite collaboration, par-delà la distance et les cultures, pour mettre en œuvre des projets avec les ouvriers, les managers et les artistes en résidences. Ces projets se développent selon une méthodologie de terrain basée sur des expériences spontanées, non nécessaires et non obligatoires menées sur le lieu de travail.
